... Walk for the Animals

The Central Dakota Humane Society is holding its annual Shaggy Shuffle at the Capitol grounds on Sunday, September 14, 2008. Registration and fun will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the walk will start at 2:00 p.m. Walkers will be treated to food, drinks, music and other entertainment. Incentive awards will be given out for each level of money raised. Door prize drawings will also be held. Walkers will be able to choose the length of their route and walk with or without their pet.

"Shaggy Shuffle is our biggest fundraiser of the year," said Rita O'Neill, Shaggy Shuffle organizer. "It's an exciting event and we invite everyone to bring their pets and family members to help us raise some much-needed funds for the pets at the CDHS shelter."

Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the walk. All participants turning in a registration form are eligible for door prizes. (See registration form info at left.) You must be present to win any and all prizes.

Level One: $25-$75

Level Two: $76-$150
