Presidents Message
CDHS Helps pets AND People
By Cameo Skager - CDHS Board President
What a busy summer! CHDS volunteers and staff have been going nonstop all summer, greeting the pubic, working on fundraisers and beginning to raise money for our potential building campaign. The events we’ve been involved with since the beginning of May include the Rub-A-Dub Doggie Wash, MotoFest with KTM Cycle Hutt, Band Night Parade, pets at the Boy Scout Jamboree, Dog Days Deals Rummage Sale, Ressler Subaru Pet-A-Palooza, McQuade’s Softball Tournament cleanup, event at The Pier, Flip for Paws fundraiser with KTM Cycle Hutt and Mandan’s 4th of July Parade. And on top of all of those events, we’ve been selling raffle tickets, creating a Facebook page, producing Destination Pets shows, putting out newsletters, creating and editing web pages, taking photos of animals – and, of course, the very important everyday work of caring for the animals at the shelter and rescuing new ones.
I do know there are a few people who have been involved with nearly every events and fundraiser. They must certainly be tired and yet they continue to do more. It’s amazing to me that we have so many volunteers willing to do so much. And even as they go about their own lives – working at their paying jobs and managing their own homes and families – they never forget about their CDHS family. They continue to offer assistance and jump in when needed.
We really do have the best volunteers around! Hats off to all our volunteers. Your dedication and diligence is what makes CDHS continue to be successful at saving animals and placing them in new, loving homes.
