Meet the cats and dogs at Central Dakota Humane Society
Central Dakota Humane Society has been doing great things for pets and people in the Bismarck-Mandan and the central North Dakota area for more than 60 years.
In addition to rescuing, caring for, and rehoming homeless pets, we provide a place for volunteers to help in the community.
We educate about proper pet care, our organization's mission, and the importance of volunteerism through school visits, shelter tours, and service group presentations.
We fund our good work through donations, memberships, fundraisers, events, and grant writing. We encourage all pet owners and pet lovers to honor their own pets by giving back and donating to CDHS, as we continue doing great things for pets and people.

SHAGGY SHUFFLE 2025
Walking for the animals on June 17!
Join us for an evening of fun, food, frolic, and walking the dog!
We will have:
- Treat tossing photo booth (these are the most amazing pictures of your dog catching a treat)
- Agility demonstrations (your dog can try it out!)
- Canine toenail trimming and teeth cleaning
- Dog training demos and Q& A sessions
- Food and ice cream trucks
- Pet-related vendors
- Pet contests
- Shaggy Shuffle Raffle prize drawing for 5 - 1,000 cash prizes
- To wrap it all up - the Shaggy Shuffle walk around Sertoma Park.
Registration, activities, and food start at 5 pm and the Shaggy Shuffle walk will start at 7:30 pm. Registration options include:
- $25 - Single Registration - Receive treats for you and your pets
- $40 - Single Registration with shirts - Receive an event t-shirt and treats for you and your pet
- $45 - Duo Registration - Receive treats for 2
- $75 - Duo Registration with shirts - Receive 2 event t-shirts and treats for 2
- $80 - Family Registration - Receive treats for a group of 4
- $125 - Family Registration with shirts - Receive 4 event t-shirts and treats for a group of 4
(If you prefer, you can also go old school for your registration. Contact cameo@cdhs.net to receive a registration form. Print off the hard copy Registration Form. Collect pledge dollars (cash or check) from your friends and family, recording their information on your registration form. Either bring your form and pledge dollars to the event, bring to the CDHS shelter, or mail the form and the pledge dollars to CDHS, 2104 37th St, Mandan, ND 58554. If sending to the CDHS shelter, we must receive your form by June 7.)
Remember - all the money raised helps CDHS care for the pets in need!

Easter Baskets for Fido and Fluffy!
Order an Easter Basket for your pets and CDHS volunteers will deliver them to you! Toys and treats for your pets just in time for Easter.
Baskets are for:
- Large dogs
- Small/medium dogs
- Cats
Each are only $30. Deadline for ordering is April 17 or until we sell out. (We only have 15 of each basket!) Delivery will take place throughout the day on April 18. Please indicate when you order where you would like the basket delivered (home or business address) and where you would like your basket placed. (Bismarck-Mandan-Lincoln only please.)
The money raised goes to help the pets at the CDHS shelter waiting to find their homes!
