"I am Hope. You can talk to me, give me treats, and pet me twice, if you are lucky. Do not attempt to pick me up. Neither of us will enjoy that."
Well... what to say about Hope. Hope came from a home where her person was sick and spent many, many months in the hospital. Hope lived alone in the home with someone coming to feed her every few days. The person did not interact with her because she was so scared and traumatized. Clearly, Hope has some pretty bad PTSD from her time in the home alone. She is a very reactive cat. Through her time at CDHS, she has gotten better at interacting with people. We can definitely give her treats, which she takes gently, and she does like to interact at her kennel door. We have been able to pet her a bit, but anything beyond that is very uncomfortable for Hope. We are hoping that there is someone out there who would be willing to give Hope a room of her own with a window (she loves looking out the window), toys, soft places to sleep. It would be a challenge, but we do believe she will eventually come around to being a more social cat. It's so sad to think that she was so scared and alone that it made her scared of human touch. We have faith that Hope will eventually find a home with someone who is willing to meet her where she is and help her take the next steps toward a calm and happy life.
Hope's adoption fee is $80 plus tax. The adoption fee includes:

"I am super sweet fellow who came to CDHS with a MAJOR matted fur issue. I was well fed, so clearly someone had been caring for me, but they did not care enough to brush my fur or get me groomed. I will need a home that is quiet and chaos free as I am mostly blind. I love nothing better than chin scritches and to cuddle on the couch or sleep in the sun.
