HOW TO HELP

At Central Dakota Humane Society we provide comfort and care for our community's homeless animals. We offer many other services too, for pets and their people and even for people without pets. To do this, we rely on the support of people like you.

Questions? Contact CDHS at 701-667-2020.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP:

  • Canisters: Drop your change in the CDHS canisters around Bismarck-Mandan. All proceeds go directly to our shelter animals' daily needs.
  • CDHS Endowment Fund: You can donate money to the CDHS Endowment Fund. This fund is an ongoing resource for CDHS - which gives the shelter revenue for operating expenses. Currently the State of North Dakota allows you to receive a 40% tax credit in addition to the regular federal income tax charitable donation. More information about the CDHS Endowment Fund is available by emailing info@cdhs.net. The Memorandum of Understanding for a donation to the Endowment Fund is also available by emailing info@cdhs.net.
  • Honors: Give to CDHS in the names of friends, family, and business associates in honor of special occasions or everyday celebrations. They will receive an acknowledgement from us and the priceless knowledge that your donation helped an animal find a home.
  • Memorials: Remember a departed person or pet with a CDHS memorial gift or Memorial Paw Print. Both are thoughtful ways to express your sympathy, as well as offer love, care, and a second chance to homeless animals in our community.
  • Recycling: Collect aluminum cans and recycle them for the shelter. There is a bin at CDHS where you can drop off your cans or you can take them to Gerdau Ameristeel (formerly Porter Brothers). Simply inform them that the proceeds go to CDHS. They send a check each month for all the cans recycled in the name of CDHS. Gerdau Ameristeel also purchases all metal, cars, fencing, cabinets, etc. and the proceeds can all be donated to CDHS.
  • Make Fleece Blankets for CDHS to sell: CDHS has a supply of blankets that we sell at the shelter and at various fundraising events. If you would like to help make these fleece blankets that we can sell - and we use for shelter animals while they are at the shelter, please let us know.

SHOW YOUR LOVE

We ARE a vital partner and a needed asset in our community. Please help us continue our mission. We challenge every pet lover in the Central North Dakota area to show your love for your own animals by giving back to those less fortunate - the stray, abandoned, and abused creatures who find their way to our doorstep and who are eventually adopted into wonderful, forever homes.
