ANIMAL RESCUE, SHELTER, & ADOPTION CENTER

Central Dakota Humane Society has been doing great things for pets and people in the Bismarck-Mandan and the central North Dakota area for more than 60 years.

In addition to rescuing, caring for, and rehoming homeless pets, we provide a place for volunteers to help in the community.

We educate about proper pet care, our organization's mission, and the importance of volunteerism through school visits, shelter tours, and service group presentations.

We fund our good work through donations, memberships, fundraisers, events, and grant writing. We encourage all pet owners and pet lovers to honor their own pets by giving back and donating to CDHS, as we continue doing great things for pets and people.

WE PROUDLY CARE FOR ANIMALS IN NEED

The Central Dakota Humane Society provides vital services for the animal population of Bismarck-Mandan and the central North Dakota area. We rescue, house, rehabilitate, and rehome stray, injured, abandoned, and abused animals.

CDHS PROGRAMS

SNAP PROGRAM - CDHS promotes the spaying and neutering of pets to reduce unwanted litters of puppies and kittens in our area. Our Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) offers a limited number of $50 coupons per month for spaying and neutering at participating veterinarians.

BUDDY's BOWL - CDHS hosts Buddy's Bowl, a program to help fill the bowls of pets in need in our community. We use donated pet food, along with discounted food from area business partners, to supply Buddy's Bowl.
Pickup locations for Buddy's Bowl include Dream Center, Ministry on the Margins, Community Action, YMCA, Adopt-A-Block, Heaven's Helpers Soup Cafe, and Wilton Food Pantry. THANK YOU to our Buddy's Bowl Boosters - KT Animal Supply, Runnings Bismarck, Cashwise, Walmart Mandan, MinnKota PAAWS, Runnings Mandan, Bennigans.


FRIENDS FUR LIFE - People 65 and older can adopt pets 6 and older for a waived adoption fee. And receive a $50 gift card to KT Animal Supply to help with pet expenses.


2-for-1 KITTENS and CATS - All kittens and cats at CDHS are 2-for-1 adoption fees. We believe it is much healthier, mentally and physically, for the felines, especially kittens (especially siblings!) to go home with a friend. Having a buddy gives them a playmate, a napping buddy, and someone who will be there when the humans are not at home.
