Hope came from a home where her person was sick and spent many, many months in the hospital. Hope lived alone in the home with someone coming to feed her every few days. The person did not interact with her because she was so scared and traumatized. Clearly, Hope has some pretty bad PTSD from her time in the home alone. She is an independent cat. Through her time at CDHS, she has gotten better at interacting with people. We can definitely give her treats, which she takes gently, and she does like to interact when out of her kennel, sometimes fiving head bumps and brushing up against you. She enjoys a head pet just a bit but doesn't enjoy petting on her back or tail area. We are hoping that there is someone out there who would be willing to give Hope some space of her own with a window (she loves looking out the window), toys, soft places to sleep. It's so sad to think that she was so scared and alone that it made her scared of human touch. We have faith that Hope will eventually find a home with someone who is willing to meet her where she is and help her take the next steps toward a calm and happy life.
